Photographing people was never my interest. It felt like an invasion of their privacy to me. I preferred inanimate objects as my subjects. (No permission was required. They posed no hassle, no rejection.) Yet, as I look through my collection of years of photography, I find there are people among them – mostly looking directly into the lens. They invited me to photograph them without coyness or vanity. Maybe there are people who actually like to have their photos taken!
